My newest special occasion dress! This one is the Sophia Dress from @byhandlondon. I’m really pleased! I cut the shoulders as the smallest size and graded up for the rest of the dress. And of course, the regular sway back and shortening lengths. I also moved the slit to the back and combined the different bodice to skirt. It’s so much fun!! Well well well, I’m a vintage pattern jacket maker now! Here’s an unlined smock jacket in cotton duck from a Joann trip I made in August. The pattern didn’t come with a belt, but I defo needed it! This was also my first time trying out snaps as a closure, and now I for sure need more items with snaps! Bring on seasonal colours! I’m still working my way through my Autumn wardrobe sewing marathon, and this is one of my most recent makes. It’s a heavily modified Holly Jumpsuit from @byhandlondon (I made the pants full length, changed the closure to a zipper and moved it to the back.) Spent a great weekend on Toronto for my hisband’s birthday and got to trot out some of my summer faves because it’s still SO HOT 🔥. I really do love this outfit, based on a vintage pattern, but I must admit should I make the top again I’ll have to do some big time adjustments for my small shoulders and narrow upper chest. Being a vintage pattern I can’t just choose a shoulder size that’s smaller and then do an FBA. One other good thing: I loooove this Dogwood Denim from @spoonflower. Debuting another of my Autumn 2018 🍂 new makes! This is the cute @deer_and_doe_patterns Anemone skirt. Love the peplum, and I must admit it was a gamble because I’ve never worn a peplumed thing before. This is also a triumph, as I’ve found a good way to use my Spoonflower cotton ulta for garments!
