Still working on my Autumn sewing wardrobe! This is the first of at least two pairs of #ddsafran pants I want to make. Didn’t mod anything and I’m so happy with the fit! I must admit I skimped on the length and they’re a bit too short for my liking, but that’s my fault! The coat sewing kick continues! Here is the @deer_and_doe_patterns Opium coat. I was SURE I’d want the belted version but after trying on the coat before adding the loops I fell in love. Over and over again Deer and Doe proves to be my favourite indie sewing pattern designer. I’d suggest this pattern to anyone! Sewing is so great! I’m all fixated on making coats 🧥 recently. This one is from a vintage pattern, and isn’t technically done yet (still have to sew up the bottom hem!) but it might be the best wearable “muslin” I’ve made yet! Used a wool/poly blend for the exterior and some lovely cotton my husband gifted to me for the lining. Question for you sewists with coat-sewing experience: tips and tricks for getting through those thick layers?
