Not so much a me made today, but instead a re-made (?). Rather, a fixing situation. I got this lovely skirt on vacation, a very fun way to souvenir 😃 Problem is, the waist was oddly long and straight, which lead to an undesirious gaping at my natural waist because I am certainly not straight up and down. I was nervous to do some skirt surgery, as this was both expensive AND a souvenir, but I’m glad I unpicked the waistband and gentle sloped it in at the sides because now it fits much better! Sewing skills and a bit of bravery to the rescue!

Pleased with this @byhandlondon Alix dress in some lovely red rayon. This is its second time out; the debut was @hamiltonfrocktails in the spring. Highly recommend this pattern. Very graceful and pretty straightforward to sew. Didn’t alter anything except length. I must admit that this lays nice and flat because of some well-placed lingerie tape. I think I miiight try to alter the bodice a bit should I sew another one of these. #sewistsofinstagram #bhlalix #sewists

Lander shorts! I’m really pleased with how these came out. I did have to take them in a bit to suit my tastes, but the fit (with the help of the instructor @withlovelingerie at my local sewing shop @needlework_hamilton!) came out great! I’m thinking of making a full length pair for the autumn, but I’m not sure I’m on board with Teresa’s Return to Flares... #sewistsofinstagram #landerpants #landershorts

Self sewn vintage wrap top (which I’m quite happy about), linen blend @deer_and_doe_patterns Chataigne shorts (which I need to make more of, but with a much shorter waist length!) and an unseen @clothhabit Watson Bra (highly recommend as an intro to lingerie sewing). Suuuuper proud of my first swimsuit! Fabric from @spoonflower and pattern is a 1999 McCalls 2221 swimsuit. Should I make another there are things I would change, but I’m still pleased with how straightforward it was to sew. Also pleased with the opacity of the fabric (lined, of course) even though it’s mostly white. Thinking of making a different one piece swimsuit pattern. Anyone have any faves? #sewistsofinstagram

Love that plethora of Rite of Spring shorts! And a cute microbrewery logo!

Surprised and pleased how this vintage wrap top turned out. I didn’t know if I’d like this style on me, but turns out I do! Hink this means I have to do the gown and cape version I have in my vintage pattern collection (see it alllll @sewingcollectionlibrary). Anyone have a favourite source for drapey, rayon-ish type fabrics?

New matching set! Top is a verrrry simple wrap top construction with no closure. Happy to show n tell more in stories if you’re interested! Bottom is yet another Rite of Spring shorts. The ice cream I am happily displaying was free from @sprinklesontop.hamont because the name-of-the-day was Teresa! Blueberry and Lavender. Yum!
