Cotswold Capelet

Cotswold Capeletcc1

Warm your shoulders while keeping your hands free with this dashing capelet. Pleats at the neck and shoulders and colorwork on the inside hem add flair (and flare!). The glowing color calls to mind Cotswold stone, a naturally yellow limestone native to the Cotswolds.

Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted (100% superwash merino wool): Buffalo Grove (yellow; MC), 3 skeins; #612 Cornelia (multi; CC), 1 skein.

Removable marker; tapestry needle; waste yarn for provisional CO; two size 7 (4.5 mm) or smaller double-pointed needles; spare size 4 (3.5 mm) or smaller 24” circular needle.

Helpful Notes
This cape is worked back and forth from the bottom up, beginning with 4 rows of simple colorwork that form the inside of the turned hem. About 7 (8, 9) yards of contrasting color are used for the hem.
